About The Rakower Axelrad Team Douglas Elliman Real Estate
Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Inc.
Michael Axelrad's 40 years of business experience set the perfect stage for success in real estate. His extensive sales, marketing and service background complemented by his proven technological expertise helps him stay current and a cut above in helping buyers and sellers achieve their goals.
Partnering with his wife and experienced Hamptons real estate agent Lucille Rakower-Axelrad, Michael is committed to providing the highest level of concierge real estate service to bring their clients' dreams to life. "We offer a unique real estate experience that is built on trust, honesty and integrity, and enhanced by full service attention from start to finish," he says. "We work hard to ensure that your purchase or sale of a Hamptons home is seamless and satisfying, and that you walk away from the closing table with the best value possible."
Michael came to real estate after a decade of negotiating major software and hardware contracts for Fortune 500s and other companies. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in finance on Wall Street, and did mergers and acquisitions for small businesses. Originally from Chicago, Michael spent the earlier part of his career running his own thriving costume jewelry manufacturing and wholesale company where he oversaw 350 employees.
Full-time residents of Quogue since 2002, Michael and Lucille are extremely passionate about and heavily involved in the local Hamptons community. Their vast market knowledge and insight on the different town offerings, personalities and activities make them a sought-after resource for their loyal clients. In his spare time, Michael is an avid sports lover and tennis player. He is also a stock market and investment enthusiast, and political junkie who is active in local politics.

Lucille provides nurturing hands-on guidance to every single client. She enjoys navigating people through the life-changing real estate process and helping them realize their dreams – whether they are first-time buyers who need that extra attention, second-home investors seeking a vacation or rental property, or downsizers looking to simplify yet retain their quality of life.
With nearly a decade of real estate experience and a 30-year career of tremendous success in business, Lucille understands how to serve clients well and get deals done. Working in partnership at Douglas Elliman with her husband, Michael Axelrad, she works hard to deliver the type of rewarding and enlightening real estate experience that everyone deserves. "We provide our clients with concierge-style service that goes beyond helping them find the right property, to selecting the best local neighborhood for their unique lifestyle needs."
Originally from Douglaston, Queens, Lucille spent many years running every facet of the largest international importer of live tropical fish on the entire East Coast, which she helped grow from one country and one customer to 20 different countries around the world. Her exceptional business acumen, negotiating expertise, problem solving skills and customer service savvy transitioned seamlessly when entering the real estate field in 2005.
Lucille and Michael became permanent residents of Quogue, NY in 2002 and are active members of their community. As the mother of a physically-challenged child, Lucille's heart has long lied in giving substantial time to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and other related non-profit organizations. She sits on the board of the Edgemere Inn Foundation for the Physically Challenged, a privately-held company in Southampton, and is a member of the Town of Southampton Disability Advisory Committee. Lucille is also an officer of the Hamptons Chapter of the Long Island Board of Realtors. Helping local charities like The Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation, Family Counseling Service and Hospice (where she co-chairs the Annual Camp Goodgrief - Hospice Spring Luncheon) is equally dear to her heart.
For fun, Lucille enjoys playing tennis and traveling for leisure after years traveling the world for business purposes.
